Damn and Blast Lechlade again!

Lechlade called 7.30pm Friday night to say they couldn’t get a side and would have to cancel. Offered to play just a friendly, we’d give them 2 players and play 9 a side. They declined. Bugger.

Fab game at Bibury

Really good game at Bibury. Both sides were on top at various stages of the game. Cautious batting start by NCCC followed by middle order acceleration saw us set 198 for 6 target. A par score or maybe just above. Bibury batsmen really went for it, trying to get above the rate at 20 overs as dark skies surrounded us. Rain came, reduced target and overs, Bibury kept coming and coming. On the cusp of victory their two hard hitting batsmen were removed and then quickly the rest of the team. NCCC winners by 16. Squeaky bum time. Well done to Captain Stewart and to Gareth for his all round performance. Two more league games to go …..

Another league win!

Rain in the morning made for nervy is it on or is it off phone calls. Credit to Keith and Stu for holding their nerve and a fine afternoons cricket took place. NCCC made 156ish all out. Useful contributions from Chris Thring, John Wells and Gareth Hunt. Great Rissington’s youthful team made 99 all out. Wickets for Ben Eyre, Gareth, Jack Pethick, and Ollie. Well done to all. Pitch played great despite rain, rabbits and crows.

Successful weekend

Hi All. Well done to captain Stewart and his teams on an excellent sunny weekend of cricket. Saturday away at Central Hall. Baking hot afternoon, fielded first. Excellent from the bowlers, bowling out Central for 97 in the 40th overs. Josh 5 wickets – fantastic. Dave 10 overs 2 wkts for 5. brilliant. Excellent from Ollie and Stu. Solid batting from Simon Pow, Chris Thring and Dan Robbins saw us home for a 7 wkt win. Sunday, lovely friendly against Cowley. NCCC 189, Cowley approx. 170. Last over Tony Pow bowling to their 11 year old. Last ball survived for honourable draw – perfect!

See you all soon… steve

Damn and blast Lechlade

No cricket played this weekend. Saturday Vs Lechlade cancelled by rain, though no communication from home team. Therefore 11 North Cerney players and one Lechlade turn up to find a locked gate. Pissed off or what! Sunday’s game with South Cerney called off because SC had reached the local T20 final. Not long till next weekend.

Good results from last weekend

A great game and a close win over Charlton. 145 for 7 to win for us, a few nerves but we got there. Both sides enjoyed the game so much we’re going to try to arrange a friendly in late Aug. Sunday saw the Travellers come. In a classic time game, captain Stu and Jonesy carefully (not) played out the final over as our last batsmen. Fantastic
